Meet Our Staff
After twenty-six years of pastoral ministry, in 2005 Bruce began to fulfill a calling, in the making for many years, by being trained as an Intentional Interim Minister by the Center for Congregational Health, Winston Salem, NC. Bruce was born in Drexel, North Carolina. He received a B.A. from Anderson University, 1977, and an M.Min. from Anderson University School of Theology, 1979. After ten years of ministry Bruce returned to seminary at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville Kentucky where he received a Master of Divinity in Christian Education, in May 1990 and a Doctor of Ministry in May 1993. Bruce’s doctoral project was in developing congregational identity. He has also completed some post graduate work toward a Doctor of Education at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Bruce met Marga Thomason at Anderson College and they were married December 16, 1978. Marga is Coordinator of Case Management at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, Virginia where they live. They have two grown children: a daughter, Marissa and a son, Alex. Bruce’s hobbies include sailing, golf and building scale models of historic race cars. He is also a volunteer with Ministering to Ministers, a foundation that supports ministers and their spouses who have gone through forced termination. E-mail Bruce Queen at bqueenfbca@comcast.net
