- Church Food Closet is in need of canned goods. Any canned goods are welcome. Please place donations in the blue plastic tub in the commons area. Thank You!
- Tree Planting - Help us plant 150 trees in Ashland to celebrate Ashland's 150th Birthday! Order 3 or 4' potted saplings - American Holly, River Birch, Northern Red Oak, Red Bud or Red Maples - $15 per tree. Deadline is September 1. Contact Laura Boone at 687-6334 or laboone@comcast.net.
- 2008 Ashland CROP Walk for Hunger - The Slash Christian Church Disciple Women and Outreach Committee is sponsoring a CROP Walk for Hunger on Saturday, October 4, 2008. Individuals or teams from Ashland and Central Hanover churches are invited to participate. The walk is 3 miles long and 25% of all funds raised will stay in the community, and be given to ACES to help stock their pantry. If you or your group would like to participate, please contact Gary Stadnick at 798-4419.
- Community Thanksgiving - Don't forget that Thanksgiving is coming sooner than you think! We have collected money and donated items from several local businesses. All proceeds will be used for the Community Thanksgiving dinner. Thank you for praying for everyone who will eat and work with us in late November. God Bless!
- "Ties that Bind" - The Family Life Committee is now in the planning stages of the 2nd annual "Ties that Bind" Community Extravaganza. It will be held on Saturday, September 27th from 4:00-6:00 PM. Do you have "ties" to a community group, organization, or a business that would be interested in participating? If so, please contact Fred Horn at fhorn@firstbaptistashland.org or 798-9014.
- FBC Homecoming Celebration - The 150th Anniversary Committee will be sending out invitations for our October 12, 2008 Homecoming celebration. Help them with the invitation list by calling, mailing, or e-mailing names and addresses of former members and friends to the 150th committee members or the church office.
- Pictorial Directory - If you have not had your picture taken for the pictorial directory and would still like to, you may call Olan Mills at 1-800-866-2263. Be sure to mention that our contract number is 32699. The final dates for pictures are October 17-18.
- Website Updates - Our goal is to keep our website up-to-date with the very latest news, events, meetings, menus, etc., so you'll always be able to check the site for the latest "happenings" at FBC. But we can't do it without YOU! If you are the leader of a small group, are heading up a special event, or just have news you want to share on the site, please fill out a News & Event Form. Forms are available by e-mail or fax by calling the church office. Or you can pick one up at the receptionist's desk. Forms are due by 3:00PM each Wednesday afternoon.
- Picnic Table Offer is Back -- The Men’s Bible Study Group has brought back the picnic table offer for Spring! For just $150, you can get a six-foot treated picnic table AND the church will get one too! What a deal. But wait, there’s more. Once the church has enough tables, any remaining funds will go towards paying down the new sanctuary debt.
